The 45th President Of the United States Is…Donald Trump
Five… Four… Three… Two… One! The poll boxes for Election 2016 are now closed everywhere in the United States. While this election was way closer than expected our new president is Donald Trump. After weeks, of people saying,
“This election will go to Hilary Clinton, she has it in the bag.”
I am happy to say people were wrong. It will be interesting to see how much he gets accomplished because one-third of the Senate and House of Representatives is up for re-election. After weeks of campaigning the Senate is officially in the hands of the Republican party and the House stays in the hands of the Republicans. So, he couldn’t have a better Senate and House to get his visions for our nation become reality.
For weeks, Hilary Clinton has been predicted to be the winner, sources admitted that all polls had she was predicted to be the first women president. However, now that the election results have been calculated. It proves that the media isn’t always right, Trump won with the 279 elector votes he needed. This means that the Republican party will have control of the Senate, House of Representatives and the Presidency.
Sadly, many people chose not to vote because they were so disappointed with the two candidates. But more people have shown up to vote, people wonder whether that’s because they are against the other candidate, but whatever the reason higher voting is great.
I wonder if Democrats in particular chose to stay home because they were so confident Hillary would win, or were they beginning to doubt her because of her email accounts, manipulating the system on the third round debates and even how many times she has lied. Trump made mistakes too, such as calling women certain names, but that didn’t come up the week before the election, and I wonder if the press cost Clinton the election.
Trump has activated a whole group of people who normally don’t vote, so if they come to vote for him they could be the surprise factor for this year’s debate.
Trump winning also means that he gets to fill a seat on the Supreme Court and their terms are for life. This is especially important because there are several bills that have a four-four vote.
Clinton was disappointed but she said, “Thank you to all of the people who supported me, I know you are disappointed, I am too, but I wanted to call out all the women especially young women who voted for me, you are my champion.”
While the thrilled Trump said, “I want to thank my family, friends, and supporters. We owe Hillary Clinton a great sense of gratitude and thanks for all the hard work she has done. Let’s make America Great Again!”
America has had a very exciting next four years and I can’t wait to see what happens.
