Dogs are the best companions, friends, and protectors. They're known to bring joy to everyone around them, and they are great for cuddles, walks, and new adventures. Dogs love you unconditionally, and that's part of what makes them such incredible pets.

1. Puppy snuggles.

Nothing is more comforting than your dog snuggling up next to you at the end of a long day, even if it means that they'll inevitably wake you up at 3 A.M. because they're trying to steal your pillow. Dogs show us how much they love us by curling up next to us and passing out, and that's fine by me!

2. Zoomies.

I have a little old beagle, and every night before she goes to sleep, she gets this huge burst of energy. She spends 95% of the day sleeping in various spots around the house, so watching her tear down the hallway like she's a puppy again is always my favorite part of the day.

3. Watching them swim is so funny.

All the labs that I've had throughout my life have always loved the water. Watching my dogs swim around the pool chasing noodles or fetching toys is such great entertainment. Not to mention the fact that they look like soggy seals while they swim. If you've never experienced this, I would highly recommend taking your dog swimming ASAP!

4. You can dress them up on holidays.

What's not to love about a dog in an elf hat or reindeer ears? How about a pumpkin costume or an Uncle Sam hat on the 4th of July? My dogs are so good-natured that they'll sit still at least long enough for me to snap a picture before they try to chew off whatever costume I've forced them to wear.

5. They look adorable playing in the snow.

Enough said. Nothing is cuter than watching your dogs run around and chase each other through the snow, except maybe watching them make little doggy snow angels.

6. They always want to cheer you up.

Dogs are the most caring, gentle animals. I used to have a dog that could tell when I was upset and would come snuggle with me and do his best to make me smile. He hated to see anyone upset, and he totally missed his calling as a therapy dog. Name something sweeter than that, I'll wait.

7. They're so bad that it's cute.

Kassidy Tirelli

I came home from work one day this summer and found my six-month-old puppy chewing on a conch shell that he had stolen off of a shelf. Of course, I scolded him at the moment, but let me tell you, seeing an overgrown black lab puppy with a huge seashell hanging out of his mouth is adorable. Little buddy just wanted to have a beach day.

8. When I drop food, they clean it up.

Dropped a piece of chicken or some cereal on the floor? Don't worry, the dog will get it. My dogs are like my own personal vacuum cleaners which, I'm not going to lie, is super convenient.

9. They're loyal.

Kassidy Tirelli

I've never seen a more loyal dog than my old lab, Lucas. He wouldn't willingly leave my mom's side for the twelve years we had him, and he wanted to be wherever she was at all times. He was seriously her everyday companion and would have followed her anywhere. He even used to jump off the diving board with her. That's dedication.

10. They love you unconditionally.

Kassidy Tirelli

No matter how much I annoy my dogs by taking pictures of them or picking them up while they're sleeping, they're still always happy to see me. Dogs are willing to love you unconditionally, and let's be honest, there's no better quality that a pet could have.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
