Dogs, like most pets, know how to put a smile on your face. Just a look into those big eyes can shatter your heart into a million pieces. They rarely get mad at you and forgive you with just a piece of your food. Just by throwing a ball you become their new best friend. I don't understand how people cannot be dog people. Here are some of the reasons I think dogs are the best!
1. They make you laugh.
My dog is the best at making my day better. Even when they cause trouble, I still manage to laugh. When they find the most ridiculous position to sleep in or bark at their own shadow. Those moments just reassure me that dogs are the best.
2. They make you feel like you are the most important person in the world.
To when they greet you at the door or fall asleep next you at night. You are their whole world and they show it in everything they do. Maybe it's just because we feed them everyday, but still we all love to feel like that!
3. They communicate without a word.
Of course dogs don't talk, but you never question what your dog is thinking. Just a look at those eyes and you know exactly what they want. My dog gives great advice. Just talking about your problems can be very therapeutic.
4. Sometimes they don't act like a dog.
Dogs tend to think they are human and can do human things. Some dogs even act like cats. They think because they bring so much happiness that they have special privileges.
5. They are not needy (in most cases).
Dogs just need a few pats on the head and food to be happy. The occasional throw of the ball doesn't hurt either. My dogs even know how to play with themselves. Never ignore your dog though sometimes they go a little over board and get into trouble.
6. They are always in the way.
They want to be in everyone's business especially at the most inconvenient times. It just takes a few shoves, but they always up in your business. They just want to be loved and be where the action is. In some cases the only solution is to lock them up or I have personally perfected the art of distracting.
7. They are always down to cuddle.
There is something about that fur ball laying in the bed that is so inviting. Of course there are downsides of sleeping with the dog, but cuddling is always a good option. Just remember the motto, "There is always room for one more."
8. They always love adventure.
Whether it is visiting a pet store and running in a dog park, they are down for anything. Although one of the major pains of the world is the lack of dog-friendly places. Is it too much to ask to have a nice place to sit and sip tea with your mutt?
Dogs are the best pets you can own. Many can disagree, but all us true dog lovers know the real MVPs.
