If there is one thing I absolutely despise about college it is this: I cannot bring my dogs, which means I cannot cuddle with them, play with them, walk with them, or do anything with them while I’m at college. This has been the hardest transition for me. I have always had dogs growing up, so coming to college, I realized there would be differences, but I never thought adjusting to life with no dog would be this hard. About a week into college, my mom stopped sending me regular pictures of my dogs because apparently it made me sad.
So, to shift my attention in another direction, I started watching dog videos on YouTube. Yes, I was that person, and am still that person, that spends way too much time on YouTube watching dog videos. It has gotten so bad that my parents and friends have decided that I have two different laughs: one for normal things that are funny and one for when I watch corgi videos, which has been deemed “the corgi laugh” by my best friend.
These corgi videos, however, have not just helped me adjust to not having my dogs at school with me, but they have also helped me get through college and the tough transitions college can bring. Here’s how.
1. Need a break from homework, college, and adult duties, but don’t feel like leaving your dorm? This compilation of the world’s cutest corgis is perfect for a short but much-needed break from homework and responsibility.
2. Missing your favorite furry companions when coming back to school in August? This corgi video is sure to give you laughs and bring back memories of summer -- you know, that time when you could walk outside in shorts and a tank top. Oh, the days of warmth.
3. For even more reminiscing, if you’re missing the lake and your beloved furry friends, this corgi, named Cooper, is sure to cheer you up and give you a good laugh. He thinks he can go so far but his legs are just so short.
4. Feel like having a lazy day but feel guilty about it? Don’t. These corgis feel that and will join you in your laziness.
5. Did you do something you just know you shouldn’t have? Join this corgi in her guilt from digging. Bond with the computer screen over your guilt, and then don’t feel guilty anymore. Life happens, it’s OK.
6. And lastly, when you feel like everything is falling apart and life is hard, just remember, this corgi couldn’t get the ball because his legs are too short. Life as a dog is so hard.
