Does Everything Good Come To An End?
Katie Pyle

Is it really true that everything good comes to an end? How are we supposed to react to this when people say it in an attempt to make us feel better about something that happened? Life moves forward faster than you can keep track, we go day to day and rush through the motions, when we actually really need to start cherishing everything, good, bad, in between, it's all part of our lives and our stories. I believe good things come and good things can go, but not everything good comes to an end.

If we lived day to day fully believing that all the good and happy things in our life were only temporary we would drive ourselves insane and honestly, we'd just be really sad. People are afraid to give into something or someone fully because situations in the past have failed or not been what they expected it to be, so they learn to care differently. They care cautiously or half-heartedly, to avoid a let down in the end. Of course, it's not necessarily their fault but they can be their own solution when you realize you're not caring to your full potential. Love yourself and your qualities that are unique to you, they're ever-growing. The best part about this is that they're in your control. You can grow to become a more trusting person, a happy person no matter what the situation may be, the light in someone's day because you're stable and happy with yourself. When you are happy with yourself you become happy with the people you surround yourself with because you realize your worth as well as others.

Actions speak louder than words, once you take this to heart you can begin to live it and act on your beliefs. Now more than ever, I believe this to be true. Before I would have faith in people's words and words alone but I'd find myself disappointed when they didn't follow through with their words. Don't lose hope. Set the example for yourself and others. Talk about it less and just start doing it more. It's good to have faith in people, I've had friends walk into my life in the past year that has proven to me that, yes actions really do speak louder than words. They've been friends that I know I'll have by my side for a lifetime even though it's never a frequent conversation, it's kind of an unspoken thing. Through everything we do for one another, we know our friendship's value. Having someone come into your life out of the blue, showing you they want to see you, doing the little things to show they care. Everyone has their own love language, whether it's footsies or sharing your laughter or hugging and squeezing them because they mean so much to you.

There are ways to show you care without saying it, show the people in your life they matter, embrace the opportunities you're given. Love who you are and your journey, love the unexpected things and people that pop into your life because at the end of the day: good things really don't come to an end. With the right mindset and the right company things just keep getting better.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
