What does confidence mean to you? Not being afraid, taking risks – everyone has their own definition of confidence and what it means to them – making individuals one step closer to being confident. While some are born to be confident, others learn to be confident through experience. Personally, I’ve learned to be confident and still continue to learn each and every day. Here’s my definition of what confidence means to me – broken up into each letter, starting with C.

C – Certain

Making decisions can be tough, but a confident person knows exactly what they want. They are decisive and certain about the things in their lives and will follow through no matter what. Certainty comes with many pressures in life, but how you get through the problems with certainty - you know everything will be alright.

O – Open

Being open to new challenges, differentiates between a confident person and an non-confident person. Stepping out of one’s comfort zone and getting out of the bubble is what confident individuals do best. In addition, they are likewise open to advice and learning from their mistakes.

N – Nice

Some confident people can be the meanest people one has ever met; however, “true” confident people are nice and caring. Caring for others is one of the best qualities a confident person could ever have. Looking out for others or sharing their wisdom with others, proves to me to be a strong confident person.

F – Fearless

Fearless equals having no fear. No fear of failing, no fear of everyone – living life to the fullest with no regrets makes a confident person unique. They’re not afraid to speak their minds and want to be heard. They don’t believe in hiding beyond a mask – they believe in showing the world “WHO THEY ARE.”

I – Intelligent

Confident people are smart – not just book smart, but overall smart in all aspects of life. Consuming wisdom enhances an individual to understand the world in a way that best suits them and makes them appreciate the world a slight more. Intelligence can control some people, but in a confident person – intelligence is self-controlled.

D – Dauntless

Dauntless means determination – determination to achieve anything one sets their minds to. Being determined has many advantages in life and helps individuals solve resolutions faster. Just like the “C” in confidence, certain, confident people are certain about what they want and are DETERMINED to achieve it.

E – Esteem

Esteem comes from the word – self-esteem, which is an important quality to have to be confident. Having self-esteem means not caring about what others think of you and doing whatever makes you happy – even if others don’t appreciate you. Knowing that the only thing that matters is you, makes you confident already.

N – Notable

R-E-S-P-E-C-T - is the quality individuals see in confident people. They are respectful to others and worth noticing. Confident people likewise become and continue to be exceptionally successful in all activities they participate in life. Notable or respected people are hard to find in this world, but people with confidence tend to have this trait.

C – Courageous

The best part about being confident is being courageous – not scared to take an adventure, no matter how big, small, dangerous or safe – you can’t tell a courageous person no. Their braveness speaks volumes and makes one want to go along for the ride with them.

E – Emphatic

One might find emphatic meaning forceful – making it a strange definition of being confident, but I find emphatic to mean clear – clearly stating what you want in life to others and making individuals understand you as one already does being confident.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
