College can get a little lonely every once in a while and sometimes you just want a nonjudgmental pal to curl up with and tell your problems to.
The solution? Bring your dog to college.
It solves everything, I promise. There's nothing better than having your best furry bud to lie next to on the couch as you recover from an intense study session or a rough night.
Here's every excuse you'll need in order to justify bringing your dog to college:
1. Companionship.
We all need a friend that can just sit there and listen to you rant about school, your love life and career problems. So, just tell them to your dog. I'm sure he or she won't mind as much as one of your human friends would. No judgment here, just a wagging tail and dog kisses to console your soul.
2. Responsibility.
Although I would like to assume that all college students are responsible to a degree, I must admit I have been surprised a few times by those that aren't. Having a dog forces you to care for another living mammal besides yourself. Besides, taking care of a pup on a college schedule is practice for adulting. It's taxing, but worth it.
3. Cuddles.
One guarantee, unless you have a dog that doesn't like physical attention, are pup cuddles. There really isn't much that can top a quality snuggle-sesh with your dog after a long day.
4. Genuinely brightening your day.
Now imagine opening the door to your house and there's your dog wagging his or her tail a mile a minute and doing the excited sneezes that dogs do. It brings a smile to your face immediately and the dog-talking voice escapes from your mouth without a second thought. Yay for a quality welcome home from your best bud!
5. Taste of home.
Most students bring their dogs from home because it's convenient. These home-brought pooches serve as a reminder of home. Your dog is more than just a pal, he or she is family.
6. Forced exercise.
We all know that if you have a dog you have to let the dog out. If you live anywhere that there isn't an easily accessible backyard then you have to take your dog outside. If you are a nice owner you might take your pup for a walk. Now you are multitasking, walking your pooch and getting in some exercise. Who knew it could be so easy?
If you are contemplating bringing your dog, go ahead and bring him or her to school. Having a friendly face to greet you no matter what time it is or what mood you're in is priceless. It's well worth all the walks in the rain.
