I'm The Girl Who Does Almost Everything With Her Family

To be honest, I prefer it that way.

I'm The Girl Who Does Almost Everything With Her Family

Another day passes, and I'm called by my sister's name yet another time. Typically, when the situation is flipped around, she gets annoyed.

I, however, take the situation as a compliment. Who better to be mistaken for than one of my beautiful, independent, and fiercely compassionate sisters? To be fair, the mistake is an easy one to make. We're all with at least one other sibling almost all the time, bar work and school. Although we don't look exactly alike, we maintain most of the same facial expressions, as well as similar senses of humor.

We share dozens of the same hobbies, and do most of these activities together. How could someone not mix us all up every once in a while?

Ever since I was young, my family and I have done everything together.Whether it be playing sports, traveling, playing detectives, or watching True Calling, it was just natural to find us all in one place. For most people, being attached at the hip with a best friend is the way of life. The same goes for me, but it just so happens that my best friends are my siblings, parents, in-laws, nephews, and nieces.

Most kids or teenagers would inwardly groan at the idea of having to go places or be seen with family members in public. I always found myself proud to show my family off, though. To this day, that holds true. I jump at the chance to go places with my siblings. I actually get FOMO (fear of missing out) when they all hang out and I can't be there.

When you think about it, who could possibly be a better friend than the people who have been with you nearly every day of your life? Who knows you better, can read you like a book, or predict your next move more accurately than family? In my case, at least, the answer is no one. Although I have many dear friends who I love and who understand me better than myself, nothing can compare to the bond of family.

There is no one else I'd rather sit around with and talk to, play on sports teams with, or go on road trips with. My family is the ultimate squad, tribe, and group of friends. They are honest, hilarious, trustworthy, patient, and compassionate. We teach each other, and the little ones, more about life every day. That's all I need in the people I choose to spend my time with.

What more could I ask for in a friend?

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
