#DNBs Don't Bother Me

Let's not bash other women in order to gain popularity and success.

#DNBs Don't Bother Me

There is a video going around that is taking the Internet by storm, and no, it has nothing to do with animals, police offers vs. civilians or a surprise proposal.

Instead, this video is virtually an open letter to "overly seductive" Instagram "models." You can watch it here.

It took everything in me to watch the video from start to finish, and all I could think is "Why is this girl so salty?" Better yet, why does this video, that was posted one day ago, have almost 10 million views and almost 11,000 comments?

Do we really have nothing better to do with our time than watch a girl who looks like an "overly seductive" Instagram model whine and complain because she's clearly not getting enough attention?

If you are unaware, #DNB stands for Do Nothing Bitch. The term has recently been made popular by Ronda Rousey, and is defined as a female who "does nothing," yet she has many valuable assets.

So, let me get to my point. DNBs don't bother me because I know how to work hard for what I have without needing to bash other women in order to gain popularity and success.

Honestly, if a woman wants to post half naked pictures on the Internet, that's her prerogative. If that is her way of finding a man to support her and her habits, it has very little to no effect on my goals as an individual.

However, I have noticed a trend. The girls who have been sharing said video post a ridiculous amount of selfies themselves. Here's some food for thought: Could it be that these women are intimidated by those they are tearing down? Rather than sharing an extremely negative, rude video, shouldn't those who feel so strongly about this issue find a better way to help these "insecure" women learn how to have more confidence?

Work hard for your own success, and these "DNBs" will not matter nor phase you. Don't be ill towards women who may not appear the have the same work ethic as you.

Social Media is a wonderful thing, but it has this tendency to skew our perceptions of what is reality and what is exaggerated. Don't be so simple minded that you believe everything you see on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
