"Life begins at the end of your comfort zone." -- Neale Donald Walsch
I like my comfort zone -- most people do -- because, obviously, that's where we are most comfortable. But I'm also someone who constantly wants to push myself out of my comfort zone because how else are ya gonna grow? Sometimes it's hard, especially when I want to see immediate results. But why not take it one day at a time this summer.
1. Start up a conversation with someone new
I've become great friends with some people and when I look back I don't remember how we started talking or how our first conversation went. Who made the first move? Was it awkward? So chances are if I don't remember it probably wasn't as awkward and embarrassing as I always worry it might be so why not make the move to start a conversation?? They might become your best friend.
2. Try something exciting and new or something you've always wanted to do put keep putting it off for later because "now is not the right time"- go hiking (find a waterfall), go skydiving, start a blog
If we keep waiting for the "right time" we'll never do the things we want to do. I have to remind myself to stop saying I want to do something and just go out and do it.
3. Talk to the guy or girl you think is cute
I'm a strong believer in if something is meant to be it will be. So what do we have to lose? Worst case -- maybe a little embarrassment but in a few weeks or months, we probably won't even remember it. But there is a lot to gain!
4. Pay it forward - pay for someone's meal, coffee, etc.
I've realized that making someone's day makes yours ten times better. It also helps you collect good karma.
5. Try a new food you never wanted to eat
Again, nothing to lose. But a new fav food to gain!!
6. Be funny and spontaneous - dance on the beach, scream sing with your windows rolled down
I used to never be one to even think of doing something like this but let me tell ya it's such a great feeling to just let go and not worry about what anyone thinks of you sometimes.
7. Call someone (an old friend) you haven't talked to in a long time
You could make their day or spark an old connection.
