As a 20-year-old Louisianian who's been to Walt Disney World over 30 times, I feel like I can proudly say that I am a Disney Expert. I've been lucky enough to have a family who goes pretty much every year, and every trip I learn something new about the most magical place on earth. With that knowledge, I'm going to share with you what I think are the four best places to stay at on Disney grounds. Enjoy!
1) Disney's BoardWalk Inn
The BoardWalk is by far my family's favorite place to stay, as it is our home base for our Vacation Club. The place is so elegant yet fun and homey, bringing in an old-fashioned feel that all guests - both children and adults alike - simply love. What I enjoy most about the BoardWalk is that you can walk or take a boat to Epcot and Hollywood Studios, which is faster and more exciting than driving or taking the bus. I also love all the entertainment the BoardWalk has to offer; from nice restaurants to magicians, to a dance hall, the BoardWalk has it all.
2) Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge
My next favorite is definitely the Animal Kingdom Lodge. Walking into the lobby for the first time is simply breathtaking, and Disney really makes it feel like you are walking right into the heart of Africa. This resort is very special because right outside the building you can see wild animals roaming around freely. Have you ever wanted to wake up, sit on the balcony with a cup of coffee, and walk giraffes grazing right beneath you? Disney makes that possible at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. Additionally, there is an outstanding restaurant - Jiko-The Cooking Place - located right at the resort, which I 10/10 would recommend whether you're staying at the Lodge or not.
3) Disney's Pop Century Resort
Out of all the value resorts Disney has to offer, Pop Century is my favorite and holds a special place in my heart. If you're looking for something cheaper than a small fortune, this is your place. Each building is set in a different time period, from the 50s to the 90s. In the morning you can stop at the food court to eat a delicious breakfast, then head right outside to the bus stop to begin a magical day.
4) Disney's Old Key West Resort
Old Key West is a beautiful community of buildings that captures the feeling of the Florida Keys. Everything about this resort is beautiful, and kind of makes you feel like a retired person living in the best senior home ever. The golf courses are nothing short of perfect, and the pool is one of my favorites in all of Disney. The best thing about Old Key West to me is how big the rooms are: if you're going to Disney with a large group, this may be the best place to stay. It's also only a boat ride away from Disney Springs, the downtown area of Disney World.
