If you think that Disney movies are just for kids, then I hate to be blunt, but you're very wrong. Disney movies come from the inspired and go out to the ones who need inspiration. They come from the dreamers and go out to the believers. Disney movies have a level of intellectualism that goes deeper than most animated films and help teach children (and remind adults) that values and morals are often created through hardships—and are sometimes solidified through a cheesy love story. But even beneath the cheesy and straightforward movies are some quality lessons that can be used to help guide you through difficult times in your life.
When you're feeling directionless:
"Adventure is out there" -Up
When you're feeling misguided:
"Always let your conscience be your guide" -Pinocchio
When you're fearing change:
“Sometimes you try your hardest but things don’t turn out the way you want them to. Sometimes things have to change. And maybe sometimes they’re for the better.” -Lilo and Stitch
When you're feeling defeated:
"Everybody falls down. Getting back up is how you learn how to walk." -Bambi
When you're scared of the future:
“There’s a great big beautiful tomorrow, shining at the end of every day” -Carousel of Progress
When someone has hurt you:
“Forgive, not because they deserve forgiveness, but because you deserve peace.” -The Lion King
When you're stressed:
“Why worry? If you’ve done the very best you can, worrying won’t make it any better." -Walt Disney
And finally, when you forget how precious each day is:
“Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift. That’s why we call it the present!” -Winnie the Pooh
So next time you're feeling a little low, just remember that Disney will always be there to help guide you home. All you need is faith, trust and a little pixie dust!
