The Disney Channel was probably one of the greatest things to ever happen to me. Shows on that channel were genuine, funny and taught you about life. Shows like "Lizzie McGuire" (Shout out to Hilary Duff for not losing her mind), "That’s So Raven," "Even Stevens," "The Proud Family," "Kim Possible" (Taught guy friends how to get out of the friend zone), "Suite Life of Zack and Cody" (You know you wanted to live in the Tipton Hotel, don’t even lie), "Lilo and Stitch," the list goes on and on. All these shows had some sort of impact on my life and how I’ve come to understand situations through the things that each show represented.

I genuinely miss all of these shows, and wish they were still on television (Disney sometimes has reruns of them but.. AT 2AM.) That’s So Raven taught me about body image issues and how you should be proud of what you look like and embrace it no matter what. This is from one of the episodes, take a look!

"Lizzie McGuire" taught me about true friendships, and what it means to be a good person. This is just one of the many awesome moments from the show.

Also moments like this!

The Suite Life taught me about driving, and using the PRNDL. For those of you who don’t get it, take a look at this clip.

I feel as if all the newer shows on Disney Channel and Nickelodeon have just gone downhill. I mean I recently heard there’s a show called "Dog With a Blog." I’m just going to leave it at that. All my fellow Disney lovers would agree that after a certain time period, where great shows were cancelled or just ended, began the weird and randomness that we now know to be.

This is with all good shows and networks. "All That," "Zoey 101," "Boy Meets World," "Step by Step," there multiple shows that were great and taught everyone about anything and everything. It's unfortunate that they no longer play the majority of these shows, they played huge roles in our lives back then and I think they could impact people nowadays as well. Everyone that I know, still gets excited when they see an episode of their favorite television show from either Disney, Nick, BET, etc. Those shows just take you to another place and bring back memories. Guess we'll just have to binge watch them on YouTube for now!

Dear Mom,

You took care of me and my brothers our entire lives and you still continue to! I will not be able to truly grasp all of the hard work that you put into this family until I create my own one day. But, I know that there are plenty of times I forgot to give you a simple thank you or an appreciative smile. I thank you for everything that you have done for me and will continue to do for me. Here are some examples of those times where you had my back and I forgot to pat your back for saving me:

College is hard. As people ages 18-22, we’re just trying to figure out what we’re doing with our lives, our careers, our eating habits, exercise routines, sleep patterns, and other necessities for adult life. We definitely don’t take proper care of ourselves; it’s basically impossible when we have essays, tests and readings due and somehow we’re supposed to eat right, exercise and sleep. We’re doomed to get sick. I have zero experience in science but when I get sick there are certain things I do to make myself better.

Now that it seems “talking” is the new way to date, and will stay that way until another idiotic term is used to describe the people who can’t settle down and just date someone, I feel as if it’s time to go over the unwritten rules of “talking.”

Rule 1. Having feeling without feeling.
