The creation of the Internet has created a new spectrum on learning, communication, and consumerism. Over time we've began to experience cell phones with the capabilities to be in contact with each other through text and social media. Thus creating a chain that links to us and our devices to remain connected.

Before the introduction of the chain of connectivity, people would communicate through letters and face-to-face conversations. Memories were captured through living the moment and not looking at a phone screen. Special events were wrote down and never missed. Today we're beginning to face a crisis, memories are being saved to a hard drive. Communication is leading to fights and miscommunication due to the lack of facial and tone expressions. And special events are no longer remembered by heart, instead they are remembered by an electronic not.

In order to begin to live our lives again we have to learn when and when it's not appropriate to use our devices in home or out in public. Sometimes taking a picture requires more silence when you could be conversing or listening. When taking a break in these moments, you're ruining the purity of setting aside interruptions.

When going out in public now you can notice the amount of electronic devices being used in our day to day lives. Some of these devices are being used to avoid people or to create distractions for themselves so they can mask the reality of what's going on. Later down the road we will experience almost the entire population will be linked to a cell phone and people will begin to avoid each other through the use in public places such as coffee shops, restaurants, and parks. We'll soon only have pictures lost in a folder on our phones of memories instead of having a keepsake in our heads of them .

Together we have to change the way we use our devices in order to prevent the abuse and overuse of them. To prevent not experiencing an event we can turn our phones off and live in the moment. For instance when you go to a concert, take one picture in the beginning and one in the end, then enjoy the rest of the show. You'll have your digital keepsake and for the rest of the concert, you can dance and sing along without having to worry about keeping your camera steady. In order to not overuse our phones avoid using your device when you're out with a friend. When you're having dinner with your family or friends, try to keep your device in your pocket and away from distraction. The both of you have put away precious time in order to be with each other, so don't ruin that moment by texting.

The next time you're on your phone, just remember that you're chained forever - until you decide to cut that chain.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
