All For The Glory Of God

How differently would our lives be if we did everything for the glory of God?

All For The Glory Of God
Michael Greco

So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.” 1 Corinthians 10:31

If only all Christians lived their everyday lives by this standard. Imagine how different this world would be if we presented ourselves in that way. Living with this in mind would improve our relationships with fellow believers, as well as the unsaved. Our entire outlook on life would be different, and we would become a people who desire to continually improve ourselves. If we modeled our life after Christ in everything we did and said, our representation of the Lord would be captivating. But this isn't something that can be forced or scheduled, but something that comes forth from the natural devotion and longing of a person whose sole purpose is to pursue the will of God.

“Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.” Colossians. 3:23-24

If we pushed ourselves to work our hardest in our places of employment as if we were working for God Himself, imagine how significantly our productivity would improve. When conflict arises, we thoughtfully and carefully consider the situation and approach it in the most Christ-like way. This also applies when dealing with relationships outside the work place. We should strive to put Christ at the center, as well as challenge ourselves to change for the better and grow into a more Christ-like individual. A relationship built with Christ as the cornerstone and the scriptures as the foundation stands as an unshakable force, enduring the storms of our fallen world. Many marriages that have ended in divorce could have been saved if couples would only devote themselves to studying the Word together and actively focus on displaying the characteristics of Christ.

“But in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect.” 1 Peter 3:15

As we represent Christ to unbelievers, our fruits should radiate from within us, both convincing and convicting. Showing that our actions are greater than our words, not by our own doing but by the gracious power of God. Naturally, this will occur if the Spirit dwells inside of us. The way a Christian presents themselves is crucial, as this could be an unbeliever’s first encounter with a Christian. Wherever we are, we should live like we might, at any moment, come across an unbeliever, and this balance between readiness and the Spirit’s guidance will transform you into a person whose greatest concern is to bring forth God’s command. Even though the Holy Spirit is a helper and a comforter, we as mankind have free will, and need to make the personal decision to live our lives accordingly. You cannot force or create a passion, it's something that will come genuinely and purely from an unrelenting love for Christ, the Word, and the Great Commission.

I think that one of the biggest problems of our Christian generation is laziness. And we need to come together and push forward, proclaiming the Gospel and living as an example of how Christ transformed us and gives a new joy to His people!

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
