Did Illumination Entertainment Copy Disney?

*THE SECRET LIFE OF PETS AND ZOOTOPIA SPOILERS ALERT*

Did Illumination Entertainment Copy Disney?

Did anyone else catch that, or was it just me?

To me, it seems like "The Secret Life of Pets" was a spin off of "Zootopia".

Let us explore my theory on this.

A rabbit is one of the main characters in both movies.

Obviously, Snowball (SLOP) is a bad guy, and Judy Hopps (Zootopia) is a good guy. There is still a rabbit in both movies.

A fluffy, white, adorable creature is the "bad guy".

Although we think she might be adorable and under-appreciated, Assistant Mayor Bellwether (Zootopia) thinks so too, which drives her into being the "bad guy". Snowball (SLOP) was abandoned by his family when he was a pet, which drives him into being the "bad guy". They are both white and fluffy, and adorable - BUT "BAD GUYS"!

Both movies had the two main characters as an unlikely pair.

Max and Duke (SLOP) are total and complete opposites and yet they go through an adventure in New York City together. Judy and Nick (Zootopia) are a rabbit and a fox, which are enemies, are on a quest together to find out what happened to the animals who turned savage. Both pairs of teams are unlikely but end up working together really well because they bring different skills and experiences to the table in the situation that they are in.

The main character had to be smart to trick their partner into working together.

Officer Hopps (Zootopia) used Nick's popsicle stand as blackmail against him, since he did not have a permit to sell food. Max (SLOP) broke vases and scattered papers and fruit all around their apartment to make it look like Duke had destroyed everything to show him that he was the top dog in the place. Both main characters did something smart to convince their partner of something they wanted!

Both movies had a fun-loving character (or characters) who made you laugh real hard.

You can't deny the pure joy and belly laughter that the sloths from "Zootopia" brought you when you saw the movie, or even just the trailer. The guinea pig that could not find his home in "The Secret Life of Pets" was also funny, but not quite as funny as the sloths. He still made me laugh, though!

Overall, both movies were super cute and good family movies to see.

I have a pretty solid love for Disney, so "Zootopia" would be my preference of which movie I would recommend, but both movies were family-friendly and fun to watch. There are a couple of scary scenes in each movie, but they are not too long, and if you need to leave the theater with a younger child for a bit, I am sure that the other people watching the movie will understand.

Take the whole family, get a giant bucket of popcorn with lot of butter, an icee for each person, sit back, and enjoy the movie!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
