According to nytimes.com article, "The Search for the Best Estimate of the Transgender Population", 0.3 percent of transgender across the world struggle with gender identity. The process that an individual has to face physically and monetarily leads to tremendous operations, hormone prescriptions, and bullying.
According to CBN.com, "Transgender Regret: Sex Change 'Fixed Nothing'", interviewed guest, Walt Heyer, expressed his opinion on this issue, and explained his personal experience of gender changing twice. Heyer expressed, "When people go through this gender change, there is this very high expectation, and to think their life is just going to be wonderful...and I can tell when you kind of begin to sober up and begin to realize that gender reassignment surgery really doesn’t make you a female, it just more to have cosmetic surgery and hormones".
Heyer statement further determines how getting an operation does not really change how that individual feels about their life, especially since their gender since birth still remains. On another note, a great example would be celebrity and former Olympian, Bruce Jenner. Based on his condition, the world now knows his struggle of him getting use to his new transition as being a woman.
As mentioned on the dailynews.com in New York, Halperin, the author of the Kardashian family biography states, "It hasn't been easy for Catlin, it's been very hard”.
Jenner's case has proven as a fact that anyone who is thinking of becoming a different gender most definitely need help and care. Also from dailynews.com, Jenner ex-wife, Kris Jenner, was aware of his condition, and she tried to get him to attend religious conversation therapy to save their marriage. But, this directs right back to what Heyer addressed. "There are...more than 60 percent of suffers from a co-morbid psychological disorder...there should be an adequate of deep evaluation what the co-morbid disorder exist in the transgender who is requesting surgery." It is highly important that each individual who feels like this should have someone to talk to about this, and get them to feel wanted. Side effects psychological issues such as depression, schizophrenia, or separation anxiety are not meant to be taken lightly, especially if the process continues. But where does this bring the nation to be healed from the so-called gender dysphoria?
Gender dysphoria is when one has feelings of becoming the opposite sex. In reality, once the procedure has already taken place, new standards of being a woman or a man create that short outburst of happiness for their life. But, from Genesis 1:27 “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them”. In my opinion, this scripture in the beginning time proves that God made us either to be born as male or female, and from Genesis 1:24-31, He announced everything was “good”. Plus, from the Holy Bible in Deuteronomy 22:5 “A woman shall not wear a man’s garment, nor shall a man put on a woman’s cloak, for whoever does these things is an abomination to the Lord your God”.
To stay within the context of the biblical reference, for anyone who does this to their bodies is like metaphorically slapping God in the face and telling him that He did not make you right to be male or female, that his plan was incorrect for your life. Think on how God would feel. He loves us so much, and he has created us in His perfect image. After all, if anyone feels the need to make any changes to themselves gender wise, or you need someone to talk to about what you are going through, do not make the initiative to lead yourself to believe in your emotions. Make no harm by letting a Christian know your struggles. And certainly, he or she will help comfort you with encouragement. Depression is not a gateway that anyone should go through alone. We all in this world, no matter our race, religion, or style, should pay attention to those who are craving to get attention in the worst way, and help them defeat the enemy of depression and anxiety.
