The Real Democratic Mindset

Does anyone know?

The million dollar question is, “why?”

As a right-wing supporter, a strong-minded individual and an American citizen, there are certain morals, beliefs and values for which I stand by without hesitation. However, I love hearing opposing beliefs. My extremely open mind is always searching for those who think differently. It intrigues me to know why others think the way that they do. Understanding both sides of an issue allows us, as individuals, to think from different perspectives. Perhaps we could learn something and sometimes it can even cause us to change our mind. Imagine that. Having an open mind and being susceptible to other's opinions is a beautiful thing. More people should practice this concept.

If you are a left-wing individual, I’m thrilled to be able to pick your brain apart. I am also desperately hoping to find good reasoning for your opinions. All I ever want to know is “why” when it comes to politics. If you notice, Democrats never have the answer.

They will protest you to the end, but you'll never know why. They themselves don't know why.

As a Republican, here are some of our basic, core values:

We fight for small business.

We do not support a large government.

We stand firmly by the second amendment.

We expect to be given the rights that are stated for us in the Bill of Rights.

We do not agree with Obamacare.

We believe in a strong military.

We firmly believe that no one should live in this country without being a naturalized, legal citizen.

We do not believe in free handouts for those who are taking advantage of us.

And the list goes on…

Now, what do Democrats believe in? I wholeheartedly wish I knew. There are only a few concepts that I can come up with. Here it goes...

They do not believe in war (even when necessary).

They stand vigorously for gay rights.

They believe everyone should be equal, in every sense of the word.

They do not believe in the second amendment.

Have you ever noticed how Liberals spend most of their time opposing our conservative beliefs, instead of standing up for their own? This leads me to believe that they have no beliefs of their own. Ask someone why they’re voting for Hillary Clinton and they'll say to keep Donald Trump out of office.

Over time, I have not learned a thing about Democrats. I do not understand the platform for which they stand. As a Conservative, they leave us confused and angry. We try to understand why they think the way that they do, but they give us nothing to work with. They spend all of their time protesting us, and all we’re trying to do is Make America Great Again.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
