Demi Lovato's Tattoos

I decided to write a follow-up article on Demi Lovato because last week my article about her did really good. Demi is loved by a lot of people and she has a lot of people and fans that are encouraging her to be sober again. Here's the link in case you missed it or haven't read it. Click here to read it.

Since last week, a lot of new information has come out about Demi and about that night. A lot of Demi's friends and even other celebrities have come to visit her in the hospital including her ex Wilmer Valderrama. They were together on and off for about six years and they kept breaking up when Demi wasn't sober anymore. It was a mutual breakup for the both of them and Demi had mentioned in her documentary that she had demons that she wanted to fight and conquer, and she couldn't do that if she was dependent on someone else for her happiness.

I believe that it was either Lauren (Demi's assistant) or Dani (a backup dancer) who found Demi unconscious and called 911. Although most articles that I've read said that it was a friend and that those friends that were at her house that night partying had disappeared before the ambulance arrived. It's hard to distinguish between the two voices but I'm glad Demi got the help she needed. Whoever made the 911 call requested no sirens, but the dispatcher told her that it wasn't possible and that they needed to be there as fast as possible. Dani Vitale has been getting a lot of blame for this and for what happened to Demi because it was her birthday party that they were all celebrating. Here's her response post:

I have my own questions about her overdose along with many other fans. Demi was reportedly on a "binger" with friends the night before and they had "Narcan on hand" just in case something like this happened. According to People magazine from an inside source, "Things have been a total mess for months. She and her team severed ties, and they played a large part in getting her sober years ago. She hasn't been in a good place for months." Her family and her team tried to have an intervention with her but Demi said that she could control herself and that she knew when to stop.

Here's a video I found on Youtube of the audio from the 911 call that was made. Click here to listen to it.

Here's a ten-second clip of the party the night that Demi overdosed. You vaguely see her in the background wearing a green hoodie. She seemed pretty out of it already by the time the video was taken. Click here to watch it.

I know there's a huge debate going on for what Narcan does and what it doesn't. It doesn't matter to me what Demi was using whether it was cocaine, heroin, alcohol, oxy, or whatever else anyone thinks. I still love and look up to Demi and just because she did it doesn't mean that I'm ever going to do it. She's still a role model to me and a lot of other people and she is so strong and she will survive this.

The latest update is that Demi's still in the hospital nearly a week later after her overdose and suffering from extreme nausea, a high fever, and other complications but continues to remain awake and with her family. Her team and her family are still trying to come up with a rehab plan for her as soon as she leaves the hospital but ultimately it remains Demi's choice. Lovatics still haven't heard anything from Demi herself, but she has canceled the rest of her shows probably for the rest of the year.

I'm not writing this to criticize anyone or anything bad at all. And obviously, Demi Lovato isn't the person in the world to experience this. I know it happens to hundreds of thousands of people every year and most people don't make it to have a second chance so I encourage everyone to check on your "strong" friends. We all need to start, as a society, loving and encouraging one another instead of spreading hate and anger. Be the best you that you can.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
