In my life, I have lived in two states: Minnesota and Wisconsin. While both states do have their positive qualities, there really is no question as to who is really doing it better…
The People
It’s called “Minnesota Nice” for a reason. Walking around in Minnesota it’s impossible not see a smiling face. In Minnesota strangers treat each other like old friends and old friends treat each other like family. We even welcome Wisconsin citizens into our state with open arms.
Hockey
Living in Wisconsin, it is almost impossible to go outside without seeing someone wearing a Packers Jersey. Wisconsinites seem to think that the Packers are the 8th wonder of the world and that God himself sculpted Clay Matthews’s hair. Yeah yeah yeah…we get that the packers are an above average football team but where is your NHL team? That’s right, Wisconsinites will talk smack about the Vikings but by the time Hockey season comes around they are cheering for the Minnesota Wild.
Shopping
Minnesota takes shopping to a whole new level. Not only do we have The Mall of America, the largest mall in the United States, we also aren’t plagued with sales tax. Here, where a sales tag reads $50 dollars, it actually means $50. Sorry Wisco.
The Fair
The Minnesota State Fair is a legend in itself. It is the second largest state fair in the United States, after Texas, but it tops overall in average daily attendance. At the fair, you can get any food imaginable, and it’s not all made out of cheese.
Target
That’s right, us Minnesotans created heaven itself: Target. The best store on earth was founded in 1902 in Minneapolis Minnesota. You can thank our state for giving you your happy place.
