Halloween is 100 percent my favorite holiday, and for most college kids Halloween is more than just another Saturday; it is a chance to dress up as a whatever they want, and go out and have a great night. This Halloween goes down as one of the darkest and most ghoulish that I have ever experienced. That is the reason why I am suffering from PHDS (Post-Halloween Depression Syndrome). I have created a playlist of the top songs to play post-Halloween, in order to keep some of that dark energy around. Be sure to check out the Spotify playlist below!
1. "Paint It Black" - Ciara
Ciara is back with a new single, and it is a haunting remix of a classic tune.
2. "No Rest For The Wicked" - Lykke Li
Lykke Li is the queen of dark indie.
3. "Hurricane" - MS MR
This is probably my favorite music video ever, and the inspiration for many costumes to come.
4. "Delirious" - Susanne Sundfor
Susanne Sundfor somehow makes upbeat tracks sound possessed.
5. "Boris" - Lo Fang
This is a great track wake up to after a long night of Halloweening.
6. "Poison" - Vaults
A music video like this really engages all the senses, and is one of the more beautifully done videos I have seen.
7. "The Wilhelm Scream" - James Blake
James Blake's voice is what dreams are made of, and The Wilhelm Scream is the perfect post-halloween song.
8. "In Your Nature (David Lynch Remix)" - Zola Jesus
Normally I stay away from remixes, but this one makes Zola Jesus sound much more prepped for coming down from a Halloween high.
9. "Taro" - Alt J
Alt J continues to be my go-to for atmospheric indie, and is a no-brainer for this list.
10. "Seven Devils" - Florence + The Machine
Florence + The Machine is the best way to end such a playlist, and Seven Devils is her witchiest song to date.
