From the Desk of Amanda Byrd.

After watching last night’s debate, I can honestly say that this country is doomed no matter who wins. The amount of mud that was slung could have built a city. It is simply ridiculous for people who claim to have the country’s best interests at heart to act like a bunch of grade school children out on the playground. Nothing concrete was actually discussed and America’s time was wasted for having watched the squabbling children. Trump and Clinton are out to destroy each other in this race and they are going to take America down along with them.

Trump is a misogynistic, sexist jerk and Clinton is a lying, conniving, power-hungry worm. See? Do you see how easy it is to sling mud and call people names? Exactly. I could never fathom why it was always more important to defame each other’s character than to really tackle the improvements America desperately needs. Clinton claims to want what is best for America and claims to have all these plans to help bring about the changes needed. SO does Trump. So, who do you choose to vote for?

Well, let me ask you this. Who do you think can keep this country safe? Trump for all his posturing and lewd mouth has no political career whatsoever. He has horrible views about women. He seems to want to divide America by building a wall between us and Mexico. He wants a flat tax rate that would be harder on the poor. Despite the controversy surrounding “missing” emails, Clinton wants to regulate gun laws more closely. She wants to improve healthcare and rights for women. She wants to improve our infrastructure.

Okay, well, again, let me ask you who is more qualified. Trump or Clinton? Trump ran multi-million dollar corporations. Which several had failed. Clinton has had a long career in politics. Let’s not forget the controversies surrounding her time in her various political offices. From First Lady to Secretary of State. All of it is disgusting from both parties if you ask me. All of it. I have never felt so ashamed of my country and its leaders in all my life.

Neither deserve to be president. They don’t have the class that JFK had or the brains Reagan had. Even ol’ Bill wasn’t so bad. This, however, is a complete farce. Abraham Lincoln was third party. Let’s not forget that. Gary Johnson, folks. Gary Johnson. Change can happen if we stand together and tell Trump and Clinton we do not want any more bullshit fed to us. It isn’t ice cream and we do not like it. We aren’t stupid and we are sick of the posturing and the mud-slinging. We want real change. I don’t see how anyone could vote for either of these two candidates. They’re despicable.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
