Dear Little,
I know we do not know each other all that well, but it has only been a couple weeks. It is crazy to think that we already have to think about Big/Little. You are probably sitting there thinking 'how am I supposed to know who I want my Big to be?' and if it makes you feel any better, I am thinking the same thing about my Little. If there is one thing that I have learned it is that Big/Little is kind of like recruitment. In the end, everything is going to work out and you are going to end up with the Big that you were meant to be with all along. You just have to have faith. That seems a little intimidating. The bright side is we have the rest of our lives to become best friends.
The title of 'Big' is one that I am privileged to have, but I want you to remember that it is even more special that I am a Big to you. My Big set a great example for me to follow. Everything she is to me, I want to be for you, and hopefully more. I take being your Big seriously. I want you to be able to come to me for all the highs and all the lows. It is important for you to know that I am there whenever and wherever you need me. It does not matter if it is for something as simple as borrowing a dress for a girls night out or something more serious like school, family, relationships, etc. I am always a phone call away and I promise to be there.
Sometimes you will feel like I can fix everything, and if I can I will. However, sometimes there are things that are just out of our hands. If that is the case I will be there to help you every step of the way. You no longer have to take on college and life by yourself. You have me, your Big! If that does not sound nice enough, not only do you have me, but you also everyone else in our sisterhood as well.
Joining a sorority can be difficult at times. During recruitment it is all about you, but as soon as the school year begins it is about classes, work, internships, and a hundred other little things. It can be hard not to get swept up in the shuffle of everything. Do not worry. I am here to teach and show you about our sisterhood. I will make sure you do not get lost in the craziness, but rather you join it. Through all the stressful times that come with college, it is your sisters that remind you to relax and let go of everything even if only for a little while.
I guess all I have left to say is that I am so excited to meet you! Just like you, I never thought this day would come. Enjoy every minute of Big/Little week. Take lots of pictures. Have fun guessing who your Big is. And just remember that I am always here for you.
