A Letter To Veterans
Pintrest

Thank you. I know that those are two simple words that will never be able to show the amount of gratitude I have for you. You are the real hero. What you have done for me and this country should come before anything else. Your dedication should be rewarded in much more ways than they are. You should be above any celebrity, and be idolized over any superhero.

Not many people see what you gave up as one single person to defend a nation. You gave up countless hours and days, sometimes even years, away from your friends and family to protect me, my family, and the whole country. You worked night and day to protect me; so I could sleep safely in my bed at night. Because of you, I am able to wake up in the greatest country on Earth and live freely as I please.

Many of my peers take the freedoms we have, that you fought countless hours to protect, for granted. One behalf of them, I would like to take a moment and apologize for their inconsiderate unappreciative actions. I am sorry that people in this country do not show you the gratitude and respect that you deserve. I am sorry that some of my peers choose to kneel on the ground during The National Anthem. I am sorry that they think it is a form of protest and their freedom of speech, when a reality it is nothing but a disgrace, and shows how truly ungrateful they are. I am sorry that you have to witness selfish and ungrateful idiots burning the flag that you protected with your life.

Not only is it my peers that owe you a huge apology, It is the country as a whole. Like I stated in the beginning, you should come before many other things that this country puts first. I am sorry on behalf of the country that you do not have the healthcare that you deserve, or the support in different aspects of life that you need when returning home. I am sorry that this country puts immigrants and refugees before their own veterans that fought so hard for them to work in the government they love so dearly.

Thank you for protecting the United States of America,

Thank for protecting me.

I will forever be grateful for your service.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
