Now, I'll be the first to admit that I follow entertainment news on the daily. I don't obsess over it, but I follow it and considering I'm looking to possibly further my journalism career by specializing in entertainment news, it's something I kind of have to do. However, there are people I certainly just can not stand to hear about. For example, every single member of the Kardashian clan. But what sucks most is when you're hearing about an artist you do like, and you hear about them so much, that you almost end up resenting them. Ladies and gentlemen, I'm talking about the one and only, Taylor Swift.

I grew up loving Taylor since her first album came out. If you knew me in 8th grade, you know her song "Love Story" played a very influential role in my time in the Patchogue-Medford School District (again, I'm so sorry for ruining that song with the number of times you had to hear it, guys.) I stuck around during her transition phase and always supported her. But now it's gotten to a point where she's literally everywhere and I'm completely and utterly sick of her.

I'm sick of the constant updates on her love life. I don't care about how she broke up with Calvin Harris, to start dating Tom Hiddleston three weeks later, only to break up after a few months. I'm sick of hearing about her and the Kimye drama. I'm sick of every single lawsuit she's presented with being out in the open. I'm honestly just done seeing her name everywhere I go, and I think it's mostly because it's always for a reason to make her look bad.

But isn't that how entertainment journalism has become nowadays? Instead of focusing on an artist's music, or an actor's role, we pay so much more attention to their personal and social lives that it can ruin our opinions on their craft. It's almost as if media revolves around who slept with who rather than the hard work and effort put into the music we spend our lives listening to. I'm much more interested in hearing about the inspiration for a new song, and how the lyrics came to be rather than read the same interview about why an artist is single.

I don't hate Taylor Swift, or any other artist in the spotlight. I hate how media portrays her and anybody else. I hate the negative energy that comes with it. I honestly feel like if we take the time to actually focus on the music, rather than the love lives, it would be easier to support and respect one another when it comes to the industry. So media outlets, I'm begging - shut up about Taylor Swift unless it's about her music because we're all sick and tired of it.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
