Let me just start by saying how much I love you. I don't know you, so you probably think I'm crazy and dramatic, but I do love you so much. If you are apart of something that has become such a huge chunk of my being, then you are also a huge chunk of what makes me who I am now.
And you should know, as a leader in this sorority, everything I do for this chapter is to benefit you.
The effects of the hard work and time that the current members of this sorority are putting in won't show up while we are here to enjoy them. We are making HUGE impacts right now, but we've taken steps and made decisions that will have long-term benefits that will affect you. And I hope you are thankful for that.
Also, and don't roll your eyes, but I hope you are living up to your greatest potential. You could be in high school or first grade, or you could be a little legacy baby currently resting in the arms of one my beautiful sisters, and I'm still going to be concerned about you becoming the best version of yourself.
Take every opportunity that you can. Take ballet. Join the debate team. Learn parliamentary procedure. Join the drama club. Make yourself well-rounded, because that is what will bring so much success in the future. People who branch out have a lot more to offer than those who only focus in on one of their many potentials.
Hold yourself to the highest of standards. Please. As your future sister, I want you to carry yourself in a way that makes people never doubt the person that you are. I already know that you are or will be an amazing woman, and I would hate for anyone to not be able to see the beauty that is inside of you because of the way that you portray yourself.
Don't be hateful, don't neglect your values, and please don't put yourself above anyone. Follow the rules with grace, understanding that the exist to keep you from jeopardizing your potential. And if that doesn't motivate you to do good, do it for all of the sisters you are going to have who love you so much.
For whenever you finally get your place in our sisterhood, I pray that you take it in for all that it is worth. Form meaningful and authentic relationships with the girls around you. Find the beauty in every single one of them. Run for offices, encourage your sisters to run for offices.
Allow your sisters to make you a better person, even if it involves some constructive criticism. Always remember that you will get out what you put into our sisterhood. Give it everything you have and you will get that tenfold, in return.
I pray that you find our sisterhood to be everything that I have. I pray that you find the most genuine hearts, and they they love the best and worst parts of you. I pray that you find a warm home, where you can always go. But most of all, I pray that you find the woman that you are meant to be.
I'll probably see you at an Alumni/Member function in the future.
Love ya,
Your Sister
