Dear Future Husband,
Ever since I was a little girl I have always tried to imagine in my head what you would be like. Are you tall? Short? Athletic? Nerdy? Adventurous? Funny? Till this day I still continue to imagine you in my head. I imagine what our life would be like together. I imagine where we would live and raise our children, what our wedding would be like, and all of the many adventures we would take together. If you are reading this, here are just a few things you'll need to know.
Always put Christ before me
I thought I would start off with the most important thing. I want you to always put Christ before me. I want you to love him more than you love me. I want you to focus on taking our children and me with you to Heaven. I will also love Christ more than I love you. I will do whatever it takes as well to bring you and our children closer to Him and be able to enter Heaven together. I don't want our relationship to just be the two of us. I want it to be the three of us. I want God in the middle of our relationship. God will be with us every step of the way and He will guide us to the right path of eternal life. I'm just thankful that I get to walk this path with you.
I am not a morning person
I have never been a morning person. I do not enjoy waking up early at all. I love to sleep in and wake up at 11 a.m. I am going to go ahead and apologize for how cranky and annoyed I will be in the mornings. The fact that you will be the one to put up with me and my crankiness in the morning is pretty impressive. Good job. You deserve an award.
We are a team
I know that the man of the household is the one who takes care of everything like pay the bills, go to work, etc. But, I want to help provide too. We are a team and we do everything as one. We will both work, take care of our children and help with household chores. We will always be a team no matter the circumstances.
Home date nights are just as good as going out to dinner and a movie
I do not expect you to take me to the most expensive restaurant in town or buy me expensive tickets to go to a concert. I do not want you to blow all of your money on me just so that we could have a good time. As long as we are together having fun and laughing, then it will be a perfect date. There is absolutely nothing wrong with cuddling up on the couch and watching Netflix with a big bowl of popcorn.
I am a dog lover
I hope you do not mind if we end up with oh... I don't know... 23 dogs?
Flowers and chocolate never hurt anyone
Buying flowers and chocolates for a girl will never go out of style. I am in love with red roses and I could also eat chocolate all day. Do not forget, milk chocolate is my favorite kind! Also, I really love Ghirardelli chocolate! I promise I won't be too picky; anything milk chocolate will make my heart happy.
It's OK if we fight
No relationship will ever be perfect. I do expect us to get in fights because that is what most couples do; they fight. And that is OK. I believe that if we were to get in fights it would make us stronger. If we were to fight I do not want the constant screaming and yelling. Yes, I know there is a possible chance that that could happen, but lets at least try and not do that. Instead, let's just sit together and be honest with each other. Honesty is so important in a relationship. I would rather be told the truth even if I hated the truth rather than be lied to.
You are never alone
This is also something very important that you have to always know; YOU ARE NEVER ALONE. I want you to always know that I am here right by your side. When one faces trouble than we both face trouble; when one is sad, we both are sad. We will always be by each other's side to matter the circumstance. There will never be a moment where we walk away from one another. We will go through every trial together and come out of it together. You are never alone because I will always be with you and I know that I will never be alone either.
Bible studies will be a daily thing
No matter how busy we are, we have to take the time to study the Word of God. There will be no excuse for us to not to. God will be the center our relationship and it is a must every day for us to sit down and talk to Him.
I will always love you
No matter what happens I will always love you. We could get in the biggest fight possible, yet we will always end it with an I love you. You could do something really stupid, and I will still always love you. That is something that no matter what we go through in life, that I always want you to remember. I will promise to love you always.
