The soundtrack is incredible! Okay, where are my '80s music lovers? "Careless Whisper" by Wham! (exclamation point earned) is not what you would expect to hear in a "super-hero" movie but its additional is priceless. Maybe you're more of a 90s person, in that case, you'll appreciate the game-changer that is "Shoop" by Salt N Pepa. Of course, there is also the original "Deadpool Rap" by Teamheadkick which captures the essence of the movie itself perfectly.
There is real, relatable romance! The romance wasn't an afterthought... it plays a major role in the plot. The relationship goes from the honeymoon phase, to the 'I am comfortable peeing in front of you' phase, and fully evolves throughout the movie as the couple deals with real world problems that will have you reaching for the tissues. Bonus points: it gives a lesson in attraction that goes beyond superficial beauty.
The audience is addressed directly. It's this kind of audience involvement that made shows such as The Office so unique. Deadpool has a lot to say and explain, but don't worry, he will let you know (maybe just to hear himself talk).
It is laugh out loud funny! This movie is rated R for a reason. Deadpool is far from a family-friendly movie. The humor is mature and natural; it is what your friends would say at the bar or in any other adult setting so it doesn't feel scripted or cliche.
The special effects are incredible! From the opening credits, you'll notice the production / cinematography of the movie was just as important as every other aspect. It feels like it was made to be watched in 3-D but regardless it is impressive and engaging.
Ryan Reynolds, enough said? There is no doubt that Ryan is one the most talented (and good looking) actors of his time, but this movie has been his baby for years while waiting for filming to start. His personality in interviews shows that he really cares about this movie and its success. When the cast loves the movie, it gives it a longer life span (and a sequal?!).
It's not a "dude movie." Movies shouldn't be gendered anyway.
There is a spunky, angsty teen. In case you need a character to relate to that is totally stereotypical but knows it.
