But then the awkward stage is gone and you start getting comfortable with each other

Maybe too comfortable

To the point of weird

But you embrace the weirdness

And you have almost too much fun together doing so

But you also know when to be serious

You support each other's life decisions

You'll protect each other at all cost

You balance each other out

You'll do just about anything for them

And you love each other unconditionally

Being in love with your best friend is the greatest thing in the world
