If you think about your friends, whether close or distant, you'll see that some of them are much younger or much older than you. Perhaps sometimes you think about the dating potential with one of them, regardless of their age compared to yours.

If you choose to date someone who is older than you, here is why it's better for you to do so.

1. He/she knows what he/she wants in life

Who doesn't like someone who knows what he/she wants?

2. Older people are secure

They've succeeded in life and know what got them there.

3. He/she has life wisdom

This person has learned from their experiences and has a lot to offer especially with life advice.

4. He/she is a good listener

A person who listens is always worth keeping. He/she works to understand the way you feel, what makes you excited, upset, happy, sad, among others.

5. He/she knows how to give and take

This person understands the importance of balance.

6. Older people are more educated

They have done their research/homework and have studied things for a longer time.

7. Older people are still hard-working

They know that it's important to put in effort

8. He/she is still willing to learn things in life

Lifelong learner. This person is always motivated.

9. He/she actually wants to date

He knows what he's looking for and isn't afraid to go for it.

10. An older person cares about appearing professional/cares about his/her appearance

This person values dressing well especially for you.

11. An older person is independent

He/she has lived on their own for awhile and has worked a job for a long enough time where he/she knows how to look after him/her self. They don't need a man/woman around, but they want one.

12. Older people understand what it is like to be alone

They've been through it and know how to do things on their own. They enjoy the company even when they don't require it.

13. He/she genuinely wants to spend time with you

Even though he/she doesn't need you necessarily, he/she still wants to spend time with you.

14. An older person knows how to trust

He/She has been through a boatload of struggles. But also, he/she has made it through the battle. Looking back, there is a reason why it worked that way.

After reading this, if you choose to date someone older than you, by all means — Go. For. It.

You are making a decision that feels good to you, and in your heart and head, it is a good choice.

You will learn a lot from this person.

You will learn how to love yourself, and in turn, love another person, on top of loving yourself.

You will learn life experiences and advice that most people can't give, and you will learn to believe in yourself.

You can carry that over into your own life and do it together, and also do it to provide a positive picture for everyone around you. This all carries so much value, and you are worth every bit of it.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
