Dates, Cookies, And The People Buying Them

When I was in the fourth grade, I joined the Girl Scouts. It was an interesting experience, though my biggest fan was my mother (or should I say, she was the biggest fan of the cookies?). I remember small tidbits of my troupe, as I only stayed for that one year (I moved shortly after the year was over). However, when I was still a part of it, I sold more than 300+ cookies (yes, most of them were to my mother... I actually have no idea what we did with so many cookies). So in honor of the beloved cookies, I wanted to share with you the deliciousness that is their sales and how they do it/when they do it. Saturday was their 100-year celebration so YAY!

And Now, the moment I have been waiting for... THE COOKIES. In MY favorite order.

Samoas

This is my ultimate Girl Scout cookie love. Nothing beats the coconut and caramel drizzled with chocolate. DROOL.

Trefoils

I've always loved shortbread cookies, so it doesn't come as a surprise that they beat out the others.

Thin Mints

Thin mints always reminded me of peppermint patties, like I was eating a cookie form of it, so the child-version of myself thought that was awesome.

Savannah Smiles

I have no idea why these are so delicious. I think powdered sugar is an absolute mess, but these are so damn tasty and lemony... man I am getting a craving (brb).

Thanks-A-Lot

These are somewhere between Samoas and Trefoils. It has a caramel flavor, yet it has that yummy shortbread on top. #YUM

Tagalongs

Peanut Butter for the win. DO I need to say more?

Lemonades

What's not to love about lemon cookies? However, I think these are a little too sweet for me.

Do-si-dos

These (like the remaining cookies) I don't remember having... so I don't have an opinion of them at the moment. I do, however, have a box of them in the cupboard in order to take a nice bite.

Toffee-tastic

I'd imagine these are toffee filled goodness, a must try for the future (someone, take note of this for me).

Trios

Cookies... with 3 different things, what's not to love?

Girl Scout S'Mores

I have yet to see and/or try these or the remaining version of this, pictured below.

Girl Scout Cookies are kind of like a right of passage in life, people just need to try them. What's your favorite cookie?

If you ever want to check out how they're doing, or how to become a member/buy cookies/etc., click on any of these photos to explore their website. Thanks for hanging in for the cookie addicts corner... Now I'm off to eat some Samoas.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
