Exams were brutal. But school is out, and the temperature is finally is warming up.

For all you lovers out there, or hopeless romantics like me, you have been patiently waiting for your summer romance, but are worried about the cost. As a working college student who is also dependent on my parents, I get it when wallets are tight. However, there are many ways to have fun by only spending the minimum, aside from the ever-rising gas prices. The semester is over, and money is tight, but I'm here to give you cute and romantic date ideas perfect for this summer. Here are 6 of the best ways to have fun with bae all Summer '18.

1. Picnics on the beach.

Imagine this: The warmth on your skin, the sand between your toes, the salty fresh smell in the air, and your love by your side. This is the perfect date if you can find an intimate and secluded neighborhood beach where tourists don't tend to invade or at a time when it's not too hot or busy. Bring the biggest beach towel you have and grab your favorite snacks and refreshingly sweet fruit from the fridge. Don't forget the drinks to wash it all down. Lay back and enjoy the beautiful scenery and the company, all without breaking the bank.

2. Movie Nights.

At AMC Theatres, tickets are just $5 every Tuesday with an AMC Stubs membership this summer. That leaves you with extra money for the overpriced movie snacks. Take advantage while it lasts, and go see "Infinity War" again and cry together.

3. Mini-Golfing.

If the hot weather is too unbearable, take a night to go head-to-head in a friendly game of miniature golf! Check to see if Groupon will have any great discounted offers for mini golf in your area. If you think you're smooth, try and sneak a kiss at the highest level of the course under the gazebo.

4. Ice Cream Dates.

Cool down by taking a trip to your local ice cream shop and experiment with new flavors or delight in your old favorites. This is also a great opportunity to take a stroll and talk about everything - or nothing at all.

5. Go to your local museum.

Local museums almost always have student discounts, whether it's every day or only on Sundays, so make sure to check ahead of time. Go to an art museum and tell them that they are the most beautiful work of art that you have ever seen. Or go to a science museum and play with all the cool interactive buttons like me, because I'm such a dork, and science is cool.

6. Netflix and Chill.

A modern and lazy classic. Who wants to sweat and burn in 90-degree weather when you can order a pizza and wings and snuggle up with boo? Just don't argue about what to watch.

Having a romantic summer doesn't have to be expensive. It's all about being creative and spending time with the person you love.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
