My Cousin Is More Like My Sister

Girls always have that one friend we consider "our sister", we do everything from shopping to living together. We do not know how we lived before we met them and cannot imagine doing it now.

For me, my best friend/sister is my cousin Ty. We have grown up together our whole lives and she has always been there for me.

Me being three years older did not change anything because Ty has always acted older. We have cheered, played ball, traveled together, you name it.

In 2013 I graduated high school and moved to college and I think I missed her more than I thought I would. In 2016 Ty graduated and moved to the same college, we were so excited and knew we would live together. Not to long after she joined the same sorority and that made our bond even stronger.

Even though all of those things made me happy, it is her constant love and support that makes our friendship so strong. I know without a doubt that no matter what she will always be there for me and she knows to expect the same in return. I know that I can go to her about anything, she is a great listener, gives great advice, and is always reminding me to be confident in myself.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
