Death is an unfortunate event in the circle of life that we are all destined to experience. I have become a pro at coping with death, but it never seems to get easier. Whether your loved one had a long or short life, sudden or expected death, it all makes your heart ache. You question why it had to happen now. You don't know whether you will ever be able to move forward, but you will, and overtime you will learn to live with the emptiness. Then the emptiness is filled with life as it goes on.
You will have all of the wonderful memories your loved one left you with, and if you're lucky you'll have something of theirs that you can keep close to you. When you feel helpless, just remember that you are never alone. You have friends and family and even strangers who are going through the same thing.
Finding comfort with your faith helps immensely because through prayer, you can be reassured that your loved ones all end up in heaven together and that one day you'll reunite with them too. Keep an eye out for subtle signs from above because they are very real and very comforting.
It is hard to accept and make sense of death, but the sooner you do, the quicker you will feel at peace.
It is up to you to embrace the lives your loved ones lived by keeping the memory of them alive.
As heart breaking and traumatizing as death can be, it is reality. Help yourself cope with it. Always take care of yourself first because if you aren't well, you can't help others.
It is important to remember that life goes on and so will you. You will continue to live happily with beautiful memories of your loved ones. You will share their memory with future generations until you reunite with them.
Treasure the memories and remember that goodbyes are not forever.
