The first couple week's off is great; you’re finally catching up on the sleep you missed out during the last month of school. Naturally you had to get it all in “one last time,” so it’s been a while since you’ve had a full night’s rest. You’re thrilled you don’t have to go to class anymore, and you definitely needed a break from your roommates.
Then it hits you.
This is not Christmas break. This is not spring break. It's a three month cycle of loneliness.
Maybe you have a great group of friends from high school or maybe your like me and lost connection with who you thought were "your people." No matter your situation, there sometimes is a difference between the bond between college and high school friends.
You may be feeling lonely and not knowing what to do during the next three months. You may be clocking in hours at the rec or a summer job, but the same routine tends to get old fast. Here are a few things that you can do to make the time go until your back on campus in the fall!
1. Read the comic section of the newspaper.
2. Organize music playlists for the next school session.
3. Plan a trip.
4. Bake a cookie.
5. Bake lot of cookies.
6. Buy a lottery ticket.
7. Netflix and chill.
8. Learn how to dance.
9. Shop until you drop.
10. Learn to sing.
11. Tell your grade school crush you were in love with them back in the day.
12. Call your grandma.
13. Craft for your new room.
14 Somersault down your hallway.
15. Volunteer.
16. Stop by the humane society and pet a puppy...
17. ...and a kitty.
18. Learn how to whistle.
19. Go to the zoo.
20. Hold the door open for someone.
21. Memorize the lyrics to your favorite song.
22. Search for internships or potential jobs in your industry.
23. Read a book.
24. Complete a crossword puzzle.
25. Set goals for the upcoming year.
26. Download apps to organize your life.
27. Eat a spoon full of sugar...
28. ...and then a salad to make up for it.
29. Get in contact with a your favorite grade school teacher.
30. Clean your room.
31. Hydrate yourself with some water.
32. Go to your community pool.
33. If you don't have a community pool, then buy a mini pool from Walmart.
34. Do some karaoke.
35. Try to draw a realistic person.
36. Go to a waterpark.
37. Update your resume.
38. Clip your nose hairs.
39. Paint your fingers or toes.
40. Practice self-hypnosis.
41. Take a bubble bath.
42. Dust the shelves.
43. Read old magazines.
44. Ask you parents about their college experiences.
45. Learn more about your industry.
46. Make a bucket list and find more friends that live close to your hometown so you don't have to be bored while reading this article.
