Due to New England’s proximity to the sea food is regularly consumed. Although not as popular as the lobster, steamed clams have their own following among the people of Massachusetts.
2.Cranberries
This versatile berry can be used in chutneys, pies, juice and wines and several other dishes. It is a native New England crop and was farmed in Cape Cod on 1815. Also it is the top crop in Massachusetts.
3.New England Clam Chowder
This is probably the most popular food that New England has to offer and is well known across the country as a New England food. You can get a cup at Union Oyster House which has been serving this delicacy since 1826.
4.Hermit Bar
It’s a spicy fruit bar that was probably invented in New England. Due to its long shelf life, sailors used to snack on them during long trips at the sea.
5.Lobster Rolls
Last but not least lobster rolls, which has almost a cult following in New England. It is a sandwich filled with lobster meat soaked in butter and usually served on a steamed hot dog bun.
