Why You Must Consider The 5 W's Before Getting A Tattoo

As tattoos become more and more acceptable in society, people are increasingly eager to go out and have their bodies permanently marked. Before taking this step though, it is important to think through the details of the decision. The tattoo you get will be with you forever, so make sure it is something you will enjoy living with.

The first thing to consider is the what. It could be a quote, a family crest, a cross, or maybe even a little elephant. There is an unimaginable amount of different symbols, pictures and words that can be combined to create one of these works of art. Sorting through all of the options is absolutely necessary though if you are going to be happy with what you decide on.

Along with the what is the why. It is highly likely that the image you choose has a meaning that is personal to you. No matter what meaning it holds, it is probably a good idea to make sure there is a good reason that you want to get the tattoo. Picking just any object, especially if you pick it on a whim, could leave you with regret and sadness because you are unable to undo the choice you made. It is better to put more thought into a tattoo than you think is really necessary.

After you have settled on an idea that you will not only be proud to show off, but also proud to explain, you must decide on the where. While you have your entire body as a canvas, where you choose to have your tattoo placed will be extremely important. You have to consider everything about how the tattoo will age, from sun exposure, to possible weight gain, to natural wrinkling. All of these aspects have the potential to take a once beautiful design and morph it into something you are less than pleased with. For instance, even though a delicate tattoo on your hand may be intriguing, chances are good that with the amount of exposure to the sun this spot gets, your tattoo will fade in no time at all. Just make sure you have chosen the right spot before the needle meets your skin.

The next step in getting a tattoo is the when. This is mostly important because of the after-care necessary for a tattoo. It is important to wear loose fitting clothes, keep the tattoo out of the sun, and keep it from being submerged for at least a few weeks after getting it done. Therefore, if you know you spend every day of the summer on the beach swimming and sun bathing, it would be best if you waited until after the season so you won't be tempted to disrupt your tattoo's healing process.

Finally, and perhaps most importantly, you must decide on the who. Picking your tattoo artist takes heaps of research if you want to end up with something you love. Make sure you look into the reputation of the shop and the artist, ask them plenty of questions, and check out their past work if at all possible. You are putting a great deal of trust into your artist, and you must make sure you are confident in their ability long before they begin the tattoo. Getting a tattoo is a big decision, but if you put enough thought into it, you can have a masterpiece with you at all times.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
