Sex without consent is rape.
There is no way around it; when you force someone into sex, you are violating a basic human right. The right to a choice. You have a choice, whether you want to participate in such an intimate act, or to just say no. No one should be forced to do something that they simply don't want to do. Respect is the key to a functioning society. Respect is something we clearly don't have.
An outrageous violation. Of body, mind, and soul.
What makes a person think that they have the right to do whatever they want with another human being? Why would you want to purposefully hurt someone for your own entertainment? Maybe because you were raised that way. You were raised to be a rapist. Not necessarily because of your limited opportunities or your excess of opportunities. Some of you were raised with whatever you wanted; everything was handed over to you on a silver platter, even admission to Stanford. So you grew up entitled and with the belief that everything you wanted was everything you deserved. You went out and got it. Without a second thought of how this would affect someone else's life so drastically. Some of you were mistreated, beaten, starved. So you grew up on the streets, stealing from others just to be able to live yourself. You were tattered and broken by life, used to taking anything by force in order to survive. Her virginity was one of the things you took by force, but you didn't need it. Hurting someone else just helped you hurt a bit less. Some of you were always invisible. Not even as a rapist they can see you so you just hide in the shadows until you are ready to strike. She didn't see it coming; neither did he. They can finally see you when they look into your eyes in horror, for the first time. In one way or another, society is only promoting this behavior towards others. The only way to save it is to change our mindset progressively.
The fact that we have to simplify rape to a cup of tea says a lot of our society and the way our understanding of human sexuality has developed. A concept as warped as rape being a "man's right" or just "fooling around" has been embedded into our society, causing men to degrade women on the daily. With simply watching this video, all would be clarified. We shouldn't have to even reach such extremes in which we have to explain to grown men the way we would a kindergartner. This is what the world has come to: People can no longer tell wrong from right. Consent really is as easy as a cup of tea. It's time to stop giving excuses and start teaching respect.
