Confidence boosting isn’t the easiest process in the world, but it is one of the most beneficial. It’ll help with jobs, relationships, personal growth and a slew of other things. I started my confidence boosting journey after my self-esteem took a nose dive thanks to some negative things going on in my life. Getting my self-confidence back has been a long journey that I’m still on but here I can give you some of the best tips I ever found to help you boost your self-confidence.
1. Before a meeting or presentation (or anything you need confidence for) stand in a “power stance.”
This means your feet are apart, chin up, chest out and posture tall. It’ll help give you a great feeling of importance and power, upping your self-confidence.
2. Chew gum to get rid of nerves.
Chewing gum gives a person the feeling that they have something to eat, which is a basic human need, which helps to calm nerves. Plus it'll give you good breath!
3. Find an article of clothing.
Having an article of clothing or accessory that can make you feel attractive or empowered. For me, it's having a hair elastic on my wrist. It allows me to feel sassy and that raises my self-confidence.
4. Be honest, brutally honest.
Be honest and open about your feelings and where you're at with the people in your life. It'll give you a sense of comfort (which can act as confidence) to know that you don't have to hide and that you have people around you to support you.
5. Replace the words in songs.
A great time to build self-confidence is when you're having a good time and singing with the blasting radio to a hit song is the perfect opportunity. Listening to a kind of love song? Replace the word "you" or anything along those lines with pronouns referring to yourself.
