Us girls obsess over style, fashion, clothing, and beauty. We follow girls on social media solely because of their style. We obsess over trend and "what's in." But what we fail to realize is - style is style, the difference is the person wearing the outfit, is their confidence. Style and outfits don't make someone attractive, their confidence and personality do. Therefore confidence is beauty. The clothes you choose to wear should be picked out because they scream "YOU." They should enhance your natural beauty, not establish it.
Likewise, us girls need to stop lifting others up and bringing ourselves down.
Stop thinking you need cute clothes and name brands to stand out and be beautiful. Start with your messy bed head self in the mirror in the morning and see beauty. But not just in your eyes and skin. See the beauty in your ability to do things that others cannot. In your talents, quirks, and all of the little things that make you, you. Then pick out an outfit that inspires you to create, serve, and love. Dress in a way that not only makes you comfortable in your own skin but speaks about who you are as a person.
Build your own confidence and you'll start to see the beauty you possess. So will those around you, people will be drawn to you by your confidence. They'll see more of you and less of your clothes and style. Because beauty doesn't come from the fake eyelashes or designer shoes. It comes from the beaming smile on your face just cause you to believe in your worth and what you bring to the table when you walk in the room.
Style will always change. It's never steady or constant. But confidence is assured-ness. Confidence is strong. And confidence is beauty.
