Up And Coming Music Festivals In California That Won't Break The Bank

Coachella and Outside Lands have become overcrowded, overpopulated, and prices are going through the roof. SnowGlobe and StageCoach sell out immediately. Here are some alternative options that won't cost you upwards of $500 on tickets alone.

Up And Coming Music Festivals In California That Won't Break The Bank

The musical genius and awe-inspiring personality Stevie Wonder once said, "Music is a world within itself, with a language we all understand." And it's true. Music has become a universal language, connecting people from all over the world and bringing forth an emotional response from those that choose to listen. In our modern day and age, music festivals have become an up and coming phenomenon, where people can come together and share their love of music while experiencing the joy alongside like-minded individuals.

This new, exhilarating wave of events has brought forth the popular events known as Coachella, StageCoach, SnowGlobe and Outside Lands. With prices skyrocketing between $300-500 for the tickets alone, fans are willing to break the bank to get the full and immersive experience. While these festivals rank as some of the most popular in California, the crowds have become excessive, and the prices are continuing to go up for not only tickets, but also hotels, food, and transportation. If you didn't get the chance to make plans to stay in Indio this April for Coachella or you missed the Outside Lands early bird ticket special, here are some more reasonably priced festivals in California that you will not want to miss.

These are the up and coming in California:

Bottle Rock in Napa, CA from May 27-29

Weekend tickets: $300, Day Pass: $129

While this festival is still pricey, it does not have the crazy crowds that Coachella brings. Being centrally located in Napa, this town's main focus besides the event is on wine, good vibes, and incredible food.

California Roots in Monterey, CA also from May 27-29

Weekend tickets: $190, Day Pass: $85

This event has a very unique vibe by combining a reggae-rock-folk-hip hop experience. California Roots puts forth the notion that, "This is not a musical festival but a movement, and a way of life."

Live 105's BFD in Mountain View, CA on June 4

One Day ticket: $40

Pay special attention to this lineup without looking over the best parts. There are lots of big names scattered throughout here that you won't want to miss, including Fitz and the Tantrums, Broods, Jake Bugg, the Naked and Famous, JR JR, the Wombats, and so many more. For such a cheap price and great atmosphere, this is a great way to kick off your summer.

FYF Fest in Los Angeles, CA on August 27-28

Weekend Pass: $199; Day Pass: $125. FYF is very accommodating and does payment plans if your tickets are purchased before April 30th of $54.08 per month for four months.

FYF is becoming really popular each year, and this year has a stellar lineup with a variety of different artists for all kinds of people. The sunny weather in Los Angeles creates the perfect atmosphere to dance and listen to your favorite bands.

Some other festivals to look into are Joshua Tree, Country Summer, KAABOO, and Sundown Festival. Everyone deserves to experience the miracle that is musical festivals, and these are some good places to start.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
