If we are being honest, some days can be really hard. Not every day can be the best day ever. But, lucky for us, there are always things you can do to brighten your day. Here are 24 things that you can do that will make you happy!

1. Pray

This is number one because it is the most important one. Any time that you are struggling, always turn to God. He is always there for you and ready to listen whenever. Also, don't just go to Him when you are struggling. Tell Him about how grateful you are for all He has done for you. Talk to Him as many times as you can!

2. Buy yourself something

Go buy your favorite coffee. Go buy that shirt you have been wanting for a month. Go buy the shoes, because I mean you can never have too many shoes. Go buy that thing that is really expensive because sometimes you deserve to spoil yourself. SPLURGE.

3. Laugh with your best friends

Laughter is the best medicine. Get the girls (or guys) together for a night out (or night in) and do whatever you love to do.

4. Go to a concert

There is truly no feeling like going and singing some of your favorite songs with thousands of random strangers. Your bank account might hate you for a little bit, but it will get over it.

5. Go to Chick-fil-A

Go for the 8 count chicken nugget meal, get two orders of fries, get three chicken sandwiches. Get whatever will make your heart happy. Also, don't forget to treat yourself with that shake. For those who don't have the luxury of having one ten miles away, I am truly sorry for this inconvenience. You are truly missing out on some of the best chicken in the world.

6. Buy someone else a gift

Your probably wondering how spending your own money and giving the gift to someone else will make you happy. Well, when you give someone else a gift, the pure joy on their face will instantly make you happy knowing you did something nice for someone else.

7. Go on a random adventure

Go grab your best friend and just go somewhere new or go somewhere you have been thousands of times. I highly recommend Target because you will never be disappointed there.

8. Travel somewhere new

Ahh...my favorite one. Nothing makes me happier than traveling somewhere new and learning about a new place. There are so many sights to see, food to eat, and people to meet. Traveling truly makes the heart grow fonder.

9. Go get ice cream

Sometimes you just need an ice cream cone.

10. Get lost in a good book

Snuggle up on your couch in your pajamas and just get lost in a book that interests you. There's nothing like getting lost in the character's story.

11. Go to the pumpkin patch

There is just something about looking around and seeing everyone happy just because of some pumpkins.

12. Watch your favorite movie

I highly recommend any rom-com, but it's totally up to you. Have a good laugh, cry, scare, or whatever your favorite movie does to you.

13. Go to a wedding

Seeing two people who are madly in love with each other can be so inspiring. If you don't know anybody getting married just go to a random one (just kidding, that could end badly).

14. Go to the beach

Obviously for those who don't live by a beach, this could be quite difficult. No worries, I have a simple solution. Book that plane ticket.

15. Go to fairs/carnivals in the summer

Yes, you will spend a ridiculous amount of money on fair food, but it will be worth it I promise. Also, go on the rides. They may seem boring or kiddish, but honestly you only live once so you might as well do it while you can.

16. Go to the zoo

This one is probably super cheesy, but going to the zoo can be quite fun.

17. Go outside in the spring

After a long winter, walking outside in the spring to get some fresh air and smelling the flowers will instantly bring a smile to your face.

18. Crank some tunes

Whether its in the car, office, dorm, or anywhere else, play your favorite songs and sing as loud as you can.

19. Journal

Writing what you are feeling can help reduce some stress. When you write down your thoughts, you are letting go of things that have been having a hold over you. When you write these things down and let them go, you will feel a weight lifted off your shoulders.

20. Spend time with family/friends

This one is super important. These are the people that have raised you and the people you grew up with. They know who you are and what you like. They are always there for you to help you with whatever you need.

21.Take a nap

This one is very helpful. Even if it's for 20 minutes.

22. Pet a dog

It can be any dog, really. Dogs are so friendly and they always seem to know how you are feeling.

23. Watch The Bachelor/The Bachelorette

I truly think these are funnier than comedy shows. They take your mind off of the real world. And sometimes you get a good love story out of it. I mean, am I happy with the choice of Colten being the Bachelor? No, but you better believe that I will be waiting at my TV at 7 to watch the premiere and already checking Reality Steve for Spoilers.

24. BE KIND

This is truly one of the best things that you can do. Everyone has their own story that you don't know about. When your kind to other people, it will make you happy knowing you are making someone's day. You never know, you may be the best part of their day.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
