Colorado Springs is infamous for not having much to do. There's Garden of the Gods and Pikes Peak. But after that what else is there to see?

About 20 minutes west of Colorado Springs is the historical town of Manitou Springs. Not only is there hiking and tourist attractions, there's the Penny Arcade. The arcade is open from 10am to 10pm during the summer.
2. Bear Creek Regional Park
The Bear Creek is just off of downtown Colorado Springs. There are trails for hiking and horseback riding. It is free to the public.
3. Fox Run Park
Fox Run Park is located 20 minutes north east of central Colorado Springs. It is a large area for hiking, picnics, horseback riding, etc. It is free and open to the public.
4. Independent Records
Independent Records is a record-store chain throughout Colorado Springs. They have a varying selection of CDs, LPs, posters and other items in the different stores. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. They are open from 10AM-10PM.
5. The Leechpit
Just past Old Colorado City you'll find the Leechpit. Which is coincidentally located next to one of the Independent Records locations. The Leechpit offers vintage clothing, records, and pretty much anything you can think of. They started the slogan "Keep Colorado Springs Lame". They're open from 11AM-6PM.
6. Green Mountain Falls
Green Mountain Falls is a 20 minute drive up highway 24 just past Manitou. Here you can attend events, go hiking or even find the series of waterfalls located on Catamount Trail.
7. Red Rock Open Space
Red Rock Open Space is hidden right behind Garden of the Gods. The signs say "NO SWIMMING" but i'm pretty sure everyone comes here to go cliff diving. There are also hiking trails and mountain biking trails. It is free and open from 5AM-9PM.
Don't miss a trip to the Springs because of what you hear. There is tons of places to visit for free or cheap.
