To the college sophomore,
It has been three weeks since the start of sophomore year and classes seem to be getting harder and the work load is steadily increasing throughout each day. Last year, you remember that you had time for breakfast and lunch with friends. Freshman year is not a blur to you because you feel that it just ended a month ago. Seriously, where did summer go? Do you even remember June? As a sophomore, the responsibilities that you once had has grown for a number of reasons. A few of those reasons could but that you decided to take a bigger role in the extra- curricular activities you joined last year, you got a job, you are a TA, or you have decided to rush a sorority or fraternity. Whatever the reason may be, sophomore year is no joke. The second time around should be easier but it has only gotten harder so here is my advice to you: you got this.
As fast as freshman year went by is as fast as sophomore year is going to go too. Make the most of each day by being productive. Do not take up more than you can chew. You are going to need those extra hours of sleep, trust me. Hang out with old friends but do not be afraid of making new ones. Invite someone new into your friend group, have lunch with a classmate, and work hard. College is about working hard and having fun. Challenge yourself to push your limits and take control over your life.
Do not let this year pass you by, it is one you are going to want to remember. Not all days will be good, some you are going to want to stay in and just sleep. But it is about waking up the next morning, taking a deep breath, and realizing that you got this. This "college" thing? You got this. This whole "adulting" thing? You got that, too.
