Throughout your time in college, you will meet some great people and you will meet some people that you wish you would not have even crossed paths with. You might even date some of those people that you wish you would have never met, but they all just end up as lessons learned and funny stories. If you have ever dated anyone in college, I think you will find something in this article that relates to you. If not, did you even go to college?
1. The One-Time Hookup
Can we just say AWKWARD?... You ended up at this guy’s place, naked in his bed, and you have NO idea how you ended up there.. Or even what his name is. But somehow his arm is draped over you and you really have go to the bathroom. Luckily, your phone is still alive and your friends are on their way to save you. Needless to say, you hope that you never see him again.
2. The Booty Call
Somehow, at the end of every drunken night, you and that person you have been talking to (on and off) text one another. It may start off as a “hey” or it may just flat out say “come over” but either way, you find each other and… You know the rest. If the sex is good enough for you to keep coming back, then do not end a good thing. But if you leave every time thinking WTF, end it now. Trust me. The Booty Call is both a curse and a blessing.
3. The “In a Relationship” But Cheating
I think it is safe to say that we all know someone who falls into this category. Maybe this person came to college with a significant other, or they got one in college, but either way, they are unfaithful. These people are the worse kind of people… stay away at all costs. They are constantly lying, either to you, their significant other, or both. Do not be surprised if they just stop talking to you all of a sudden because their boyfriend or girlfriend found out about you, it would not be the first time that has happened.
4. The Talking But Not Dating
This is probably the worst kind of relationship a person can have, to be honest. The “talking” stage really needs to die because it really does not mean anything. While your “talking” partner might be dependable and may ultimately lead to a relationship, there is a fine line that is easy to cross. The fine line is cheating. Can it really be considered cheating if you are not actually in a relationship with that person?
5. Actually Committed aka “Dating”
This is easily the best kind of relationship, but it can be a struggle in college. When jealousy comes into play, the committed relationship in college can become a little sticky. When both parties in this relationship are committed enough, though, the steady relationship can be a great thing. I am jealous of all of you people in college in a committed relationship.
