Don't Worry About "Peaking" Or Having "Clout" In College Because There Is More To Come

They say that college is one of the best 4 years of your life. Even though I have so many years to live, college is one of the first signs of adulthood and it starts off sweet and fun. It almost feels like a vacation from your old self. A dorm, parties, living with your friends and staying out late to do whatever you please, makes college more enjoyable. Many join clubs, organizations, or overall have a funny and likable personality. When you start to become more involved and well-known, your time in college gets a lot more fun. If your goal was to peak and be the most popular, you might as well drop out. Did you really spend 30,000 a year to just "peak?" So, you're not focused on having a job? Before you make a face, you can still be popular in high school and college and be successful after it. But if that was your main goal and you consider that as your HIGHEST point in life, you are doing the opposite.

What is "peaking" exactly?

To peak, especially in high school or college, means that a person has reached their highest point in success such as popularity, status, possibly money or feeling as if they reached their goal in life. The problem is that a lot of people who peak in high school or college rely on that last bit of fame so much to the point where it is hard for them to accept the fact that those days are over and they have to be a real adult. This isn't an attack, but an observation. Many of my high school peers have "peaked" and are now doing nothing with their lives. Some don't even have jobs and are just hanging around the neighborhood, while people who didn't peak are working successful internships and receiving life-long opportunities. Some of those people who were rude to me are now miserable making my sandwiches in the morning. There's nothing wrong with that. Get your money by any means, but I know that wasn't a career goal you wanted at 6.

Even college students who peaked are now in debt, jobless, and constantly trying to hang around upperclassmen for "party moves." Yes, I know there's people who didn't peak who might be in a similar situation, but that just shows that peaking in college isn't important and shouldn't be your main focus.

You can't just rely on high school and college to get you that popularity. Four short years of your life isn't going to affect the rest of the decades to go. If you find yourself at a place where you don't want to be at after those 15 minutes are over, you focused on the wrong thing.

What does it mean to have "clout?"

The term "clout" means popularity or status. Everyone knows who you are and sees you as a popular person. You get invited to all of the parties, have the most social media followers, and are overall likable. We all know Cardi B and Offset have a song called "Clout," saying how people will go through extreme measures to have popularity and attention. Some people just get it naturally, which is good clout. Hey, you're a likable person and you did something good.

Negative clout is that you do things for attention and popularity to the point where people cannot stand you. Some people even do drastic things or make an ass out of themselves (and others) just to get the attention they always wanted. We call these people "clout chasers." PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THEM!

So, when SHOULD you get that success?

There's no say on when you SHOULD get the success. I personally, am fine with peaking at 30-years-old. My goal at the end of the day is to have a successful career, a loving family, good income, and to be surrounded by people who care. Eventually, college popularity doesn't matter. There's no way I'm showing up to a tailgate in 2052 and reminding underclassmen that I once had popularity in this school. If you feel like you haven't peaked in college and you want to, don't worry, you're time is coming.

If you have an issue with what I read, you know I am right at the end of the day because you made that shoe fit.

Owning a pet can get difficult and expensive. Sometimes, their vet bills cost hundreds of dollars just for one visit. On top of that, pets also need food, a wee wee pad for a dog, a litter box with litter for a cat, toys, and treats. Besides having to spend hundreds of dollars on them, they provide a great companion and are almost always there when you need to talk to someone. For the past six years, I have been the proud owner of my purebred Bengal cat named Spock. Although he's only seven years and four months old, he's taught me so much. Here's a few of the things that he has taught me.

It's fun to see all of the selfies on social media, they are everywhere. I see pictures with pouty lips, duck lips and pucker lips. I see smokey eyes, huge fake lashes and nicely done nose jobs, boob jobs and butt lifts. Women working out in spandex, tiny tops and flip flops. I see tight abs and firm butts, manicured nails and toes, up dos and flowing hair. "Wow", I think to myself," I could apply tons of make-up, spend an hour on my hair, pose all day and not look like that. Maybe I need a longer stick!"
