Everyone knows that college life isn’t always a stroll in the park. Half the time it winds up with students looking as if they haven’t slept since the last holiday break, or realizing an hour before class that a project is due. While the schoolwork is stressful and the jobs might be demanding, we still love it. Having the freedom to do what we want (and sometimes not what we need to be doing) is all the all the fun of eventually growing up. Now, most people have at least seen one episode of "Modern Family," seeing that America can't get enough of these hilarious families. They all may not be dealing with college, but most of their reactions fit my day to day life perfectly. Have a look for yourself!
When you get your syllabus and see all the work that you're going to have to do:
10 minutes into your new diet to cut off or avoid the freshman 15:
Waking up after only having 2 hours of sleep:![]()
Having to go to class on those type of days mentioned above:
Going to a party or even making a tinder:
That ‘morning after a night out’ feeling when you couldn’t sleep in and people ask how you are:
But on the inside you're like:
The sense of accomplishment after you finish an assignment that took you days or even weeks:
Then there are those moments when you walk into class and the professor passes out an exam you had no idea that was happening and you can't help but think:
Realizing that three hours later your google search for a paper somehow transformed into 'stalking' everyone on Facebook:
Needing sleep on a weekday and having a bunch of girls screaming in the hallway or a bunch of loud guys next door:
When your phone rings with nothing other than an update from your bank saying you’ve overdrawn or your balance is under $20:
Having to make a resume and trying to figure out what to put on it:
Those times that you just need a day off and that one day turns into three and the assignments just keep piling up that are all due the next day:
When it's just 'one of those days':
When the 3 Red Bulls wear off and the fact that you haven't slept in 2 days starts to kick in:
Getting sick at school and not having your mom/dad to take care of you and they call to ask how you're doing:
Those people who randomly invite themselves into your room no matter what you're doing or what time it is:
Having a friend that drags you to an event that you have no interest in but they didn't want to go alone:
That one faculty member that will not stop with the constant e-mails and you wish you could just:
Having a presentation and in that moment realizing how bad at public speaking you truly are:
You get back to your room and realize it's finally time to clean and do garbage:
Sending an e-mail or submitting a paper and then realizing there was something wrong with it:
When final exam schedule comes out and you have two exams on the same day:
Walking out of each and every final like:
While college can clearly have it's ups and downs, overall we all love it here. College is a great experience and enables us all to fill our potential and be truly independent. As well as college allows us to finally get an education that we want and that will help us fulfill our goals in life. So, take it away Phil!
