In light of Thanksgiving break finally arriving, here are a few things that most college students are thankful for this year:
1. Our Families.
Who else is going to pay for the things we need, wash all of our clothes, and listen to us rant about accounting every single week? Thanksgiving is even nicer because you get to see the extended family you do not normally see every time you make a trip home.
2. Our Friends.
I can honestly say I would not be sane nor would I have survived this semester without weekly wine and "Scream Queen" nights, game day memories, group projects, study sessions, and words of encouragement and sympathy when I had four tests in one week.
3. End of the year curves.
I am praying that we all get to be thankful for these because nobody has time to take economics again nor does anyone have the capability to pass without a curve. I'm thoroughly impressed if you can. Come on, teachers; help us out a little please.
4. Leftover Thanksgiving food.
I really cannot think of a better study snack than pecan pie or anything else coming home with me from Thanksgiving, for that matter.
5. My boyfriend.
Okay, not to be mushy cause #gross, but shout out to you for putting up with my high strung, anxious brain that often bursts into tears for no reason. I promise I'll be much more sane come the end of finals week.
6. Dead week.
IT'S ALMOST HERE, YA'LL! Finally, a week with nothing for us to do but prepare for finals. (Jk, I have two projects and a paper due).
7. No class during finals.
Even if the week is spent studying, admit that it will be nice to not have to wake up for that 7:30 class and to finally be able to (somewhat) dictate your own schedule.
8. CHRISTMASSSSSSSS!
This is the light at the end of the tunnel, people! Imagine all the presents, peppermint bark, hot chocolate, and FREE TIME awaiting you in merely a few stressful weeks. WE CAN DO IT.
If you need a little extra dose of motivation, think of it like I do - after Thanksgiving break, we only have two weeks of school left, one of which we don't have class. Regardless of how stressful the rest of the semester will be, it is so close to being over!
