To College Girls Whom Have Yet To Lose Their Viginity

"Our views of sex are misshapen by the plethora of opposing messages we see every day. Our parents tell us not to have sex. The media shows us that teens have sex all the time, from casual hookups to committed couples. We are told to wait until marriage, but to be safe. We assume so many of our peers are 'sexually active,' as adults call it, but how many of us are actually having sex?"

Let alone, how many are there who have never had sex?

Dear ____ The Virgin,

It is safe to say that you struggle daily with understanding the concepts described above. Thusly,

LETS TALK ABOUT SEX, BABY.

Yes, we will be talking about that infamous three letter word which you have chosen to abstain from.

Be not ashamed of this small detail, for you should be quite proud of this accomplishment.

There are far and few people who are able to admit to such an intimate part of their personal life.

Here's to you.

"Being a Virgin in this day and age is something to be proud of, you're like a unicorn." - Shirley, from Community

It may seem as though you are the only person left on this planet who is still a virgin.

However, believe me when I say that this perception is completely false.

Statistically speaking, 25% of all college students are virgins.

Therefore, you are not alone.

"While the world mocks you for your inexperience, God is smiling at you for your strength." - Jonathan Bartell

There is a substantial amount of stigma surrounding being a virgin, especially in college.

Jokes may be thrown at you along the way, but keep a positive mind.

Remain true to who you are, and do not let others discourage you.

If you have been raised to wait to have sex until marriage, then by all means, stick to that value.

"Cinderella lost her slipper, not her virginity. You do not need to have sex to find your prince."

No boy, no matter how incredible he may seem, is worth changing your standards or beliefs for.

If he does not respect your choice or tries to force sex upon you; walk away from the relationship or situation and report him.

In the end, you will be thankful that you did.

Remember, consent is sexy.

"I wish I was a virgin again. The only fun I ever had was holding out." -Clare Luce

You should never be subjected into feeling as though you must have sex in order to fit in.

I will be the first to tell you that girls, whom you meet in college, will be envious of your conscious decision to wait.

There are many whom wish they could take back losing their virginity.

Especially, if they lost it to a one night stand.

"Never settle for less than you deserve."

No matter how tempting that boy on your floor may seem, loosing your virginity to him is definitely not worth the heartbreak that you will bound to experience afterwards.

At this age, boys are stupid.

It is safe to note they will say anything to get in your pants.

Have the courage to say no.

"Your naked body should only belong to those who fall in love with your naked soul." - Charlie Chaplin

One day, the right man will come into your life.

A man whom is interested in learning every last detail about you and loves not only your body, but that of your brain and soul.

It will be then when you are reminded as to why you chose to abstain from having sex in the first place.

I promise you that on that day, it will definitely be worth the wait.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
