4. When I’m not sure if I need to go to the doctor or not because according to WebMD I have symptoms of diabetes, mumps, and possibly even cancer, but it could also just be a head cold or allergies, according to the rest of google

5. When anyone hurts my feelings and I need a reality check

6. When I can’t decide if I should go out or stay in

7. When I need reassurance when I want to quit or end a chapter in my life (such as a job, a friendship, etc)

8. When I want to wash my DIY shorts and T-Shirts but I'm not sure if the spray paint, regular paint, glitter, etc will stain my other clothes or wash out of the shirt

9. When I need my FAFSA filled out

10. When I need someone to get lunch or nails done with

11. When I get a physical exam and need to know if my family has any medical history of asthma, heart conditions, physical restraints, heart restraints, death

12. When I want to take vitamins but am not sure which ones do what

13. When I’m walking through a parking garage alone at night and need a phone witness if someone with a chainsaw and mask comes chasing after me

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines.
